Our creative journaling event is now Mixed Media Monday! Those who want to continue working in journals and those wishing to try innovative and crafty techniques using various tools and supplies will enjoy our fun, nurturing, creative get-togethers. We will be meeting every Monday, the day after Thanksgiving, at 11 am MST. For our first class, we will be going over a couple of festive ideas for creating holiday cards, and will make plans for our upcoming classes. Be sure to register, and join in the creative fun! Cards for Kindness Scrapbook.com has launched a global initiative to get handmade cards to people who need an emotional boost, a smile, or a helping hand. If you enjoy making greeting cards and would like to send them to a great cause, then Cards for Kindness is it. Click on this link to find out how to get involved. A few weeks ago, we learned how to make a cute origami party dress and coat. This Friday, we are going to fold a gentlemen's coat, shirt, and tie. These outfits can be as formal or as whimsical as you want them to be, depending on the colors and patterns you choose. You will need a sheet of 6" square paper for the coat, a 3" x 6" sheet for the shirt, and a 2" square for the tie. Let's have some folding fun this coming Friday! We've been folding cute dresses; now, we need to accessorize our origami outfits with a fashionable pair of shoes. We will fold a couple of styles of heels and some dollar bill boots for this Friday's folding event! SuppliesFour sheets 6" origami paper in the same color, double sided preferred. 2 sheets 6" origami paper in the same color, foil backed preferred. 2 dollar bills (for larger boots,cut 2 sheets washi paper, scrapbook paper or fabric cut 4" x 10 1/2") If you don't have special paper, standard paper will be fine. Just cut them to the sizes above. Watch the video to see the folding sequence of these adorable two sheet high heel shoes.
