When you start to create a journal page, you may have an idea in mind or a story to tell. Sometimes a journal page theme will appear on its own as you apply the pen or splash the paint around. The most important thing to do is to do it and see what happens. Creative journaling is all about play and experimentation. There are no rules; just have fun.
Sometimes a page starts out one way and takes an undesired, unexpected turn. When that happens, go with it and see what you can create out of what may seem like a mess.
I often journal with watercolors, which can be a challenging medium. I created a video to show what happens when you think you've messed up a journal page. You will be surprised at the results when you loosen up and let go!
