Tomoko Fuse, a gifted origami designer from Japan, created this box out of eight paper sheets all the same size. I learned how to make this box from an origami book. Before Youtube tutorials, I had to learn from a diagram, and many of them were in Japanese. I have to admit it was frustrating to try to understand a three-dimensional fold from a two-dimensional picture. I failed and persisted until I successfully folded the box and have been hooked on modular origami ever since. These smart modular boxes can hold gifts, candy, cookies, or they can be a gift just by themselves!
We will fold the box out of eight sheets of origami paper six inches square for Friday's live class. We will tie it in a ribbon and will create a gift card with a sweet little poem inside!
Be sure to register for the live event, and check back here often for updates, and creative inspiration!
