Let's talk stretching!

We can probably all agree that physical activity - like walking, dancing, etc - is important for our overall health. It helps to maintain our strength and mobility, among other things. Something that is equally as important, though, is stretching! According to this Harvard Health article, it keeps our muscles flexible and strong, helps maintain range of motion and helps prevent joint pain and injuries. I know I can definitely feel a difference when I work on improving my flexibility. I recently worked with a Physical Therapist on posture strengthening, and  a big part of it is daily stretching! Line dancing is a fun activity that has been enjoyed by all walks of life throughout the years! But where did it come from and how did it get started? These are questions I found myself asking, the more I got into it - as I really enjoy learning the history of things. And there are a number of theories about its origin. One thing I love about dance is that it's not only a great form of physical exercise but it actually benefits us in numerous ways! I came across this Healthline article that shares 8 specific ways that dancing can benefit our overall health.  It reminded me once again how dance is so great for the mind, body and soul. For me, it's always been a way to take my mind off of everyday stress and just get lost in a fun dance for a few moments. What are the benefits you especially love about dance?
