Dave Serfling has been teaching Ballroom, Country, Swing, Latin and Line Dancing since 1988. He has taught thousands of people all over Seattle and the Puget Sound Area at many of the Parks Departments and Colleges from Enumclaw to Bellingham.  He also performs as a Professional DJ and MC at Wedding receptions, Birthday and Company parties with the added niche of offering dance lessons to the guests as part of the event's entertainment.
Dave started dancing at Discos and Nightclubs in the 1970s. Overtime he always envisioned himself owning his own nightclub or dance club facility. After learning to Partner Dance and Line Dance he started the search for a location to make this dream come true.

Along comes a place called Hagen’s Barn, a square dance hall in Renton. The timing was right, the widow of the original owner was ready to sell. So, in 1998 Dave sold his house, packed up his wife and two kids, bought the Barn (now the Rockin’ Horse Dance Barn) and built his house next door.
Dave DJs the music EVERY Friday night for the Friday Night Dances. He teaches a one-hour dance lesson before the dances start. During the week Dave teaches a plethora of dance classes, in every style, weaving humor into the lessons to help put the students at ease. These classes are popular for many reasons. They are great exercise (cardio and aerobic), help with balance, memory retention and socializing (great way to meet others with similar interests).
Dave remarried in 2008. His new wife Jimmi enhanced his vision of the Barn with her positive energy and love of dance.
In addition to dancing, Dave loves to use his carpentry skills and along with Jimmi’s hard work and green thumb they are continually updating the building and landscaping to make the Rockin’ Horse Dance Barn a Northwest premier dance venue and event rental hall.

Cindy has been involved with various forms of dance throughout her life. As a youth, she participated in a number of dance classes, as well as ice skated competitively. In high school, she joined the Hip Hop Dance and Step Team and had the opportunity to perform and compete around the Pacific Northwest. After high school, she continued with hip hop and also started teaching around the greater Tacoma area for the next five years. She enjoyed working with students from 6 years old to teenagers.
In her mid-twenties, she relocated to the Los Angeles area and eventually discovered country dancing. She worked hard to learn as many line dances as she could find, and enjoyed learning country two-step as well.
After spending time teaching friends line dances out of her living room, she started renting space to teach weekly adult classes. Between weekly classes, Parks Department classes and private and corporate events, she found growing success in dance instruction and made life long friends.
During this time, she also enjoyed salsa dancing and Latin ballroom. In 2015, she stumbled upon West Coast Swing and began taking private lessons and going social dancing for the next year. In 2016, she relocated back to the Pacific Northwest and began to compete in West Coast Swing up and down the West Coast from California to Canada. In 2017, while backpacking around Europe for three months, she took lessons, social danced and competed in various countries.
Most recently, she has taught line dancing, country two-step and country swing to adults and seniors around the Pacific Northwest. She believes in the power of dance to positively affect both the mind and the body and she greatly enjoys helping people in their journey with dance.
Aside from dance, she enjoys hiking, board games, traveling, personal growth and cuddling with her cat, Meowser.
