Join me on Saturday at 11am to paint these 3 cute little pumpkins with acrylic paint! I included a supply list below. I hope to see you there! Supply List:
Over the next three Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm MDT (10/29, 11/5 and 11/12) we will be working on painting this landscape in acrylic! Although if you prefer to use a different paint medium, feel free, but the majority of this class will be centered around the acrylic painting process and techniques. The above landscape will serve as our inspiration and starting point, however I will discuss a variety of strategies for making your painting individual and unique. You could work on canvas or watercolor paper and for colors at minimum you will need the 3 primaries (red, blue and yellow) along with some white and black. If you have some other colors such as magenta, green or a variety of blues you can have those on hand as well. It's always helpful to have a variety of different paint brushes, paper towels and a cup (or two) of water. Session 1 - Set up, sketch landscape and begin block in Session 2 - Finish block in and begin adding blending/texture/details Session 3 - Finish adding details and share finished painting Join me for a 3 part series on drawing beginning on Tuesday 10/27 at 5pm. The first class will include a crash course on how to set up an interior space in one and two point perspective. Then over the next two courses we will draw an interior space in either one or two point perspective. Note the differences between the two styles of perspective below. One Point PerspectiveIn one point perspective you will be looking straight on at a back wall. What you see on the back wall isn't in perspective because that's where your vanishing point is. Take a look at some of these images below, showing one point perspective in an interior space. Two-Point PerspectiveIn two point perspective your view point is shifted to the corner of the room instead of the back wall. The vanishing points are located on the right and left sides, and sometimes they are "off" of the composition (we will discuss this during class). The images below show two point perspective in an interior space. Gather your pencils and a piece of drawing paper and let's draw this mountain landscape together! This will be a two part class beginning on 10/25 and the second part will be on 11/1, both from 2pm to 3pm MDT. On Friday 10/23 come and join us at 5pm MDT to socialize while we create! Feel free to bring along anything you have been working on that you would like to finish or would like feedback on. Feel free to bring along something to drink and a snack if you'd like! I hope to see you there. You can register under "Upcoming Events." Here is a link to a website where you can download, print and assemble 3D forms out of paper. One of the best ways to improve your drawing skills is from direct observation and continuous practice. Practice by arranging a variety forms together in different combinations and try drawing multiple iterations. Challenge yourself by changing the viewpoint and looking at the forms from different angles. Join me on Sunday 10/18 at 11AM MST for a DRAW WITH ME class on drawing this origami crane. You could use either graphite or charcoal on the paper of your choice. You can download the image here. Join me on Friday 10/9 at 5pm MST for a relaxing and therapeutic class on mindful art-making. We will talk about different strategies for creating mindful art and using art-making as a form of Generally I think this class really caters to using a fluid art medium, such as watercolor or India ink but any type of medium or materials can work. I like to have watercolor on hand along with some Micron pens. Get ready to create by setting up a work space, gathering your materials and supplies, setting out paper (watercolor, bristol, cardstock, etc) and having an open mind! Join me on Saturday 10/10 at 11am MST for a relaxing class on painting this landscape in watercolor. If you don't have watercolor you could use gouache or acrylic as well. You'll need some watercolor paper, a cup of water, paper towel and some paint brushes. If you have masking fluid (frisket) you could use that as well for blocking out your white, but it's not required. I hope to see you there! |
