Jennifer (her friends call her Jen!) was born and raised in West Michigan but currently resides in Centennial, Colorado with her husband and daughter, Stella. She attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI and graduated with a BFA in Art Education and an emphasis in Photography. She also has a Master’s degree in Art and Design from the University of Northern Colorado. Jen has over 11 years of visual arts teaching experience, focusing primarily on painting and drawing (although she loves creating in many forms - ceramics, printmaking, photography, animation, digital media, graphic design and crafting). Jen currently teaches all levels of Drawing and Painting at a public high school in Colorado.
Jen is a self-declared “idea collector” and loves to experiment in her work. Her favorite mediums are gouache, acrylic and watercolor. Jen draws her inspiration from her surroundings as well as memories or meaningful moments. Jen especially loves to paint animals.
In addition to teaching and making art, Jen loves to spend time with her family and friends. She loves to adventure around Colorado and travel whenever she can. Jen grew up snowboarding and fell in love with the mountains after visiting Winter Park when she was in high school.
