"Makin' your way in the world today, takes everything you've got..." Sound familiar? It's the theme song from the sitcom Cheers. With lots of help from Cheryl we are rewriting the lyrics so that they can serve as the informal theme song for the Sewing Club --- where everybody knows your name and they are always glad you came! Here's what we have so far... Sewing your way through the world today takes scissors, silk and thread. Taking a break from alterations that horrid thing you dread. Wouldn't you like to get a way? Post the next verse in the comments below and join us Friday for Sew & Tell to hear how it sounds! ![]()
Gather your supplies, embellish your panels and then join us on Friday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. MT during our regularly scheduled Sew and Tell to assemble the Candy Corn Pillow live!
For continuity we will follow the pattern measurements and instructions as outlined in the attached PDF tutorial which was created by Amy at Positively Splendid; however, everyone is encouraged to embrace their creativity and personalize the panels to suit their style. It will be fun to see the different looks created through our choice in fabric, trim, embroidery and more! Join us, with a cupcake, on Friday at 3 p.m. MT during our Sew & Tell to celebrate the recent birthday's of Suzette (August) and KC (September)! Comment below with the month of your birthday so we can plan a celebration for you too! Many thanks to fellow club member KC for suggesting we sew the Sewing Tool Tote by Sew News Magazine and Lucy Blaire. Everyone is invited to sew this project at their leisure and customize the tote as desired. We will set aside time to discuss the Sewing Tool Tote project during our Friday Sew & Tell sessions. If you do not have a back copy of the original publication the PDF pattern is available for purchase directly from Sew News Magazine: https://www.sewdaily.com/product/sewing-tool-tote-sewing-pattern-download/ Turns out that was a fun and fast sew!Once we got started, no one wanted to stop sewing, so our Tool Totes are now complete. Fellow club member, KC, customized hers to hold pens, ruler, scissors and more. Nice work KC!
Happy Friday sewing friends! Everyone is invited to join our Sew & Tell at 3 p.m. MT today and show off a recent sewing project, share a sewing tip or just come to see what your fellow club members are up to! Due to technical challenges on my end our weekly Sew Together was a missed event; however, you can watch the replay of that project here. As requested we redesigned the weekly project by increasing the size of the panels and adding depth so that the bag can stand alone. Let us know how you like the new variation in the comments and be sure to checkout the improved sewing club schedule which includes an early morning Sip and Sew on Monday (bring your coffee and inspiration), Skill Based Sew Together on Tuesday (we'll be making various kinds of bag straps) and our Sew And Tell on Friday (the perfect way to wrap up the week). |
